MaxMara was established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti as a luxury Italian fashion house known for its ready-to-wear clothing.  The very first collection set the standard for MaxMara- a camel coat and a geranium red suit, incorporated the ideals of future production: essential and precise, clean cuts with decisive lines.
