Meet Jen, PR intern by day and spin instructor by night. This Motivation Monday, we asked Jen how she keeps her class motivated for early morning workouts.

As a spin instructor, I am constantly trying to motivate others to improve their fitness level. My goal for each class is to push riders out of their comfort zone to work beyond their limits. However, when trying to motivate myself to wake up at 6:00 am for an early morning workout, it is not easy! The one thing that does seems to get me out of bed at that daunting hour is a great workout playlist. Great music can be inspiring, energizing, and most importantly it will definitely get you moving! So if you need that little extra motivation for your morning workout, try adding these songs to your iPod and get those endorphins pumping.

Power (Remix), Kanye West & Jay Z: This song is the ultimate five minute warm-up. My favourite line in this song is: “You gotta go through pain in order to become you” – Jay Z

Partition, Beyonce: The only motivation I need is Beyonce’s rocking body.

A Little Party Never Hurt Nobody, FergieA great song for sprinting! This song has three sections of 20-30 second sprint intervals to increase your heart rate and burn those calories.

White Walls, Macklemore: One of my favourite climbing songs. If you are on the treadmill or elliptical, increase the resistance to feel the burn. If you are on a bike, crank up the dial for a standing climb!

Some Nights (Remix), Fun: This is by far the hardest song on my playlist. For five minutes straight, be prepared to sprint without any breaks!

Love on Top, Beyonce: Can you tell I am a Beyonce fan? This is another great hill to get those legs really burning!

Turbulence, Steve Aoki: I like to end each class with a challenging sprint and I promise this song will have you drenched with sweat.
